Before joining us on court, we ask all players to take a moment to read and understand our Code of Conduct. This outlines the standards and expectations that help ensure our sessions remain respectful, enjoyable and fair to all particiants. It reflects the values we hold both in practice and in play.
1. Team Values
- We play safely and respectfully. Every member matters.
- We are one team. We support each other regardless of experience or ability.
- There are no “professionals”—just women with different levels of netball history.
- Session Hosts
- Your hosts—Trudi, Kath, Nikki, and Angie—work hard behind the scenes, are certified, and lead each session.
- Hosts are responsible for guiding the session and setting expectations.
- While we appreciate knowledgeable players offering advice, unsolicited coaching can confuse or undermine. Let hosts lead.
- Playing Together
- Everyone joins to participate, enjoy the game, and connect—not to be coached unless they ask.
- If you’d like support with a skill or drill, speak to a host. We’re happy to offer one-to-ones or a focused session.
- Most sessions are about playing, not formal lessons—let’s keep it light and balanced.
- Respecting Officials
- Umpires donate their time and may give up playing so others can enjoy the game.
- Accept all decisions. What the umpire sees stands.
- If you’re called for an infringement—step aside, learn, and move on. Arguing or moaning about decisions is unnecessary and diminishes the spirit of the game.
- Representing Bodmin Walking Netball
- Whether you’re playing against another team or amongst yourselves, represent the club positively.
- We love to win, but never at the cost of sportsmanship, kindness, or fun.
- Final Word
- We’re here for friendship, fitness, and fun. If you’re seeking a highly competitive environment, you may prefer another format of netball.
- Remember why we play—to laugh, move and support.
